Replicated DVDs

Building on the strengths of the Compact Disc, DVD is the natural successor. A DVD is the same physical size as a standard CD, but holds 7 - 25 times more. It can be formatted for Video or ROM (or both):

	- High quality video & audio - Instant access to any section of video - Interactive menu navigation - Alternate audio tracks for any video track - (Playable on set-top DVD players and DVD compatible computers)

	- Like a CD-ROM that holds more - (Playable DVD compatible computers)

You can format your elements to the DVD spec and send us a DVD-R or DLT, or you can simply send us what you have, and we'll take care of the rest, (call for details).

- 4.7 billion-bytes (4.38GB) single sided, 1 data layer*
- 8.5 billion-bytes (7.95GB) single sided, 2 data layers
- 9.4 billion-bytes (8.75GB) dual sided, 1 data layer per side
* With computers, 1 KB data = 1024 bytes, so 4,700,000,000 bytes / 1024 = 4,589,844 KB / 1024 = 4,482 MB / 1024 = 4.377 GB.

DVD Replication

				Shop wisely - There can be a vast difference in product quality from one DVD manufacturer to another (especially with DVD-9). And because DVD manufacturing is a highly complex process with tolerances even more demanding than CD-ROM, it's important to choose the right company. We do not use overseas plants. We only use industry leading licensed and certified DVD Plants. Many people go with the lowest bid for their project, only to find their DVDs don't perform as well as they should due to unacceptable tolerances, (i.e. birefringence, pit geometry, reflectivity, jitter, etc.) To maintain the production level our clients expect, we only partner with manufacturing facilities that share our commitment to quality. We stand behind our work. If our work does not meet the order specifications, we will do it right at no additional cost to you.
		Source Materials DVD-R, DVD+R, or DLT (record DVDs at 1x or 2x) Artwork for the face of the disc to our specs. (Download our DVD Kit for specs & tips.) If needed, we can handle the authoring & premastering.

		Turnaround <discs only> Usually 8 - 10 working days from receipt of all production ready materials and approval of art proof. If we are printing packaging for your order, turnaround may be longer. Call for a schedule estimate or rush turn options.

		Check Discs (DVD-5 $175 / DVD-9 $275) Most people skip this step when providing a recordable disc data source. However, if you are sending a DLT source, it is nice to see check discs before replication begins. Check discs are manufactured in the same manner as the final discs (but without artwork) and usually add about 4 working days to the turnaround time. If after testing your check discs, you decide to submit new source data, a re-mastering fee will apply. (DVD5 $750, DVD9 or 10 $1,150)

		Packaging Due to the increased optical tolerances of DVD, if your disc is to be used more than once, we recommend a package design that holds the disc in a way that the data area of the DVD never makes contact with the packaging (i.e. DVD Box, DigiPak). However, if it is a promotional disc, then any of our standard packaging will work. Call to discuss your needs.

DVD Replication Pricing

(4.7 billion bytes=4.38 giga-bytes, single side, single data layer) This is the most popular and cost effective DVD. Like a CD-ROM, the data is accessed from a single data layer on the underside, and the top of the disc is used for screening your artwork. The following pricing includes the mastering fee and production of the discs with up to 5 colors screen printed onto the discs from artwork you provide.

This format uses the top and bottom sides of the disc for data, leaving only a 4MM wide inner circle for your text. This disc requires the user to flip the disc over to access the content on the other side. The following pricing includes the mastering fee and production of the discs with your text printed in two colors on both sides of the disc.
