DVD authoring & premastering can be simple or a daunting task depending on your project. For a DVD that will be mass replicated and distributed, you want it done right. To ensure your DVD will be user friendly and enjoy optimum compatibility, you can let us handle the authoring and premastering your DVD.

Whether you want to make a DVD-ROM or a DVD-Video, your content will need to be formatted to DVD specifications:

(Like the Hollywood movie DVDs) Creating a video format DVD can be straight forward to very complex. You can author the title and forward the DVD-Rs or DLTs to us for replication, or, we can author the project for you.

(Like a CD-ROM that holds much more) Simply send us DVD formatted DVD-Rs (or DLT) and we'll replicate exact copies.

"How much video will fit on a DVD?"

Authoring (for DVD-Video)
The conversion of your content (video, audio, images, etc) into a format readable by DVD video set-top players and DVD ready computers. This usually involves encoding video into the MPEG2 format and audio into Dolby Digital, creating interactive menus, programming behavior variables and premastering DVD-Rs.

Premastering (for Video or ROM)
The formatting of your files into the DVD format and creating a DVD-R or DLT (Digital Linear Tape) ready to send for mastering and replication.

Roman's Lab <Video & ROM DVD-9s>

NASA Jet Propulsion Labs <DVD-9 ROM>

NASA JPL came to us wanting to pack about 7 GIGs of satellite imagery onto a DVD for their "Global Boreal Forest Mapping Project", a joint project between NASA and the NASDA (National Space Development Agency of Japan). We premastered their files onto DLTs, replicated DVD-9 ROM discs, and packed them into DigiPaks.

Modern Day Dreams <Video DVD-5>
